The Turkish government is keen to tap into the golfing market

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Golf lovers will be pleased to hear that a report aiming to foresee the most popular places for golf tourism has named Turkey as the best destination for golf.

Golf is becoming an increasingly important driver in attracting tourists, and indeed property purchasers, to Turkey. The International Association of Golf Tour Operators has named Turkey as the best destination for golf holiday destination despite the fact it has only 17 completed courses in the country, reports Simpli Group Property.

Many golf courses are planned to be built around property resorts, allowing investors to take advantage of the country's increased demand for golf tourism. The Golf Federation of Turkey has announced ambitious plans for 100 golf courses to be built over the next 15 years; these new courses will join established ones which have already been developed by famous faces such as Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie.

The 18-hole course on a 170-acre site in Altinkum, Turkey has been given the go-ahead by planning officials. Altinkum has already attracted British property buyers due to low prices and the new golf course is expected to open up a higher-end market in the area. A new golf development is to be built in the resort of Bodrum, which is located along the Aegean coastline. NuBricks.com reported that This new golf project is sure to see increase in the property prices in the Bodrum area .

Dominic Whiting, editor of the Buying in Turkey guide, described the plans for new golf courses as "a major boost " and added that it will have a good effect on the property market in the area.

Sunday, December 7, 2008

The Turkish resort of Altinkum has been named as one of the best places to invest in property and perfect for holidays, a travel writer has claimed.

According to Deborah Cooper of the American Chronicle, Altinkum has plenty to offer in terms of good prices for high class properties. There is solid supply and demand in the area and ready financing for would-be property buyers makes the area as attractive proposition. There is also a lot of investment going into the area and could increase its attractiveness to tourists which is already popular for its beaches and all-round sunshine appeal.

Ms Coopera added that the resort is easily accessible by air and ferry, while apartments can be found for as little as £18,000 and a three-bedroom duplex for £26,000.

According to the Mirror, the temperature of up to 75F in winter months makes the region a year-round holiday destination and provides affordable family breaks. Altinkum has already attracted over 8,000 British property buyers due to its low prices and fabulous climate.

Golf-lovers will be pleased to hear the proposal of a £22.8 million golf resort in Altinkum, Turkey is planned by the government. Dominic Whiting, editor of the Buying in Turkey guide, said the plans as "a major boost for tourism", adding that it will have a positive impact on the property market in the region.
